When leaving home to work in the Netherlands, it can be very difficult to leave your loved ones at home. Luckily, you can also come to the Netherlands to work as a couple! At EU-People, we have special offers for couples who want to live and work together.

When working in the Netherlands as a couple, you may prefer to work for the same employer. If that is the case for you, we’ll do our very best to match both your CVs with jobs for couples at the same company. For example, one of you may work as an order picker, while the other works as a reach truck driver at the same company. Prefer to work at different companies? That’s also a possibility! We’ll then try to find jobs for both of you at companies that are not too far away from each other. That way, you could live in the same company accommodation or rent your own place that is not too far from either of your jobs. These options depend greatly on our availability of job offers. Make sure to contact us as early as possible, so we have time to make the most ideal arrangements for you.

The required working experience greatly depends on the job offer. For many of our jobs for couples, you won’t need very specific experience or education. The most important things are a good attitude towards work, showing up on time, and a dedication to learning what you don’t know yet. The same goes for language: as long as you speak some English, you can apply for most of our jobs. To help you feel heard and cared for, you’ll have a dedicated contact person to assist you as a couple with any questions about your jobs and accommodation.
The amount of hours you’ll work depends on the nature of the job. Most of the jobs we offer for couples are full-time, which can be 36 or 40 hours per week. These can be regular day-time hours, or shift work which pays extra. Many jobs also allow you to work overtime – some even prefer it! You are always paid a higher NET amount for working overtime in the Netherlands, so if you want to make as much money as possible, overtime is the way to go. We always make sure you are fully informed about the expected work hours before you sign any contracts.
Want to work in the Netherlands as a couple but don’t speak Dutch? That isn’t a problem at all! Speaking a bit of English would be ideal for communicating with colleagues and others in your daily life in the Netherlands. That’s because many Dutch people also speak English. If you’re just starting to learn English, you’ll definitely be able to practice it here! Even if you only speak Polish or another language, it can still be possible to find work in the Netherlands as a couple. Just let us know about your skills and which languages you speak, and we’ll try to find something fitting for you. All in all, the Netherlands provides a wonderful opportunity to get to know a new culture and language. As a little tip, you may want to install Duolingo on your mobile phone! This language app can help you both learn English, Dutch, and many other languages.

Working in the Netherlands with us at EU-People means that you’ll be paid weekly – directly to your personal bank account. If you make use of our company accommodation, the rent will be automatically deducted to save you some effort.
