The Netherlands is known for its social security (social safety net<\/em>), which provides financial support to people with a low income. We also have great roads, a great infrastructure, and many other benefits.<\/p>\n

But\u2026 the money for that has to come from somewhere. You might find Dutch tax rates quite high.<\/p>\n

It can be difficult to accept high income tax and VAT, especially if you are not used to it. However, there are some tax benefits that may apply to you! In this blog, we will tell you about one of them: Extra-Territorial Tax Credit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

What is an extraterritorial tax credit?<\/h3>\n

The Extra-Territorial Tax Credit (ET credit) helps people with homes in multiple countries to lower their monthly expenses. You can apply for this credit if you currently live in the Netherlands and also own a home in another country. This can save you up to \u20ac150 NET per month!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

Requirements for an extraterritorial tax credit<\/h3>\n

  • If you rent a house in the Netherlands and also rent or own a house abroad<\/li>\n
  • If you do not have a home in the Netherlands<\/li>\n
  • When your immediate family (spouse, children) lives abroad<\/li>\n
  • Your income (from NL and abroad) is taxed abroad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

    How do I apply for an extraterritorial tax credit?<\/h3>\n

    The ET discount can be difficult to apply for \u2013 especially if you do not know the Dutch language and customs. That is why we help you by submitting the application for you.
