De facto, muitas pessoas pensam que o nosso pa\u00eds tem dois nomes diferentes. Continue a ler para descobrir porque \u00e9 que isso n\u00e3o \u00e9 tecnicamente verdade!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alguns antecedentes hist\u00f3ricos<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Entre 1588 e 1795, o nome oficial da regi\u00e3o era Rep\u00fablica dos Sete Pa\u00edses Baixos Unidos. O seu nome deve-se ao facto de o terreno ser maioritariamente plano e pr\u00f3ximo do n\u00edvel do mar, o que ainda hoje acontece. A palavra neerlandesa Nederland traduz-se literalmente por \"terra baixa\". Assim sendo, \"Pa\u00edses Baixos\" \u00e9 o \u00fanico nome correto quando se fala do pa\u00eds como um todo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ent\u00e3o e a Holanda?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>O pa\u00eds dos Pa\u00edses Baixos \u00e9 constitu\u00eddo por 12 prov\u00edncias, incluindo Noord-Holland e Zuid-Holland. Estas duas prov\u00edncias albergam as famosas cidades de Amesterd\u00e3o, Roterd\u00e3o e muitas outras. Em conjunto, Noord-Holland e Zuid-Holland s\u00e3o designadas simplesmente por \"Holanda\". Por isso, quando se usa \"Holanda\", est\u00e1-se a falar apenas de uma pequena parte do pa\u00eds.
