Wat historische achtergrond<\/h3>\n

Tussen 1588 en 1795 was de offici\u00eble naam van het gebied de Republiek der Zeven Verenigde Nederlanden. Het dankt zijn naam aan het feit dat het terrein grotendeels vlak was en dicht bij zeeniveau lag, wat het vandaag de dag nog steeds is. Het Nederlandse woord Nederland betekent letterlijk “laag land”. Met dat in gedachten is “Nederland” de enige juiste naam als je het over het land als geheel hebt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

Hoe zit het dan met Nederland?<\/h3>\n

Nederland bestaat uit 12 provincies, waaronder Noord-Holland en Zuid-Holland. In deze twee provincies liggen de beroemde steden Amsterdam, Rotterdam en vele andere. Samen worden Noord-Holland en Zuid-Holland gewoon “Holland” genoemd. Dus als je “Holland” gebruikt, heb je het maar over een klein deel van het land. Als je het over het land als geheel hebt, is “Nederland” de enige juiste naam.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

Waarom we soms beide gebruiken<\/h3>\n

Als Nederlands bedrijf weten we natuurlijk dat ons land Nederland heet en niet Nederland. Toch begrijpen en respecteren we dat niet iedereen dat weet. We willen ervoor zorgen dat iedereen onze aanbiedingen kan vinden en weet waar ze zich bevinden.
