Woman ready at the station, traveling to an autumn activity in The Netherlands

If you want to work hard (and not burn out!) it’s very important to recover as well. So, though you probably came to The Netherlands to work, why not have some fun while you’re here? This blog lists 4 of the best autumn activities that our country has to offer. They’re in no particular order because they’re all so good… We can’t decide which is best!

Burger’s Zoo

Described as “My favorite place in The Netherlands!” by one of our employees, Burger’s Zoo is an experience you don’t want to miss. It’s located in Arnhem and it’s one of the largest and most popular zoos in The Netherlands. Burger’s Zoo has enormous indoor exhibits, such as mangroves, a rainforest, a desert, and even Europe’s largest living coral reef. Because so much of the park is indoors, rain or cold won’t stop you from having fun at Burger’s Zoo!

Walibi Holland

If you’re looking for thrills, visit Walibi Holland in Biddinghuizen! This theme park, which used to be called Six Flags Holland, features 5 high-speed roller coasters and many other rides. In October, the park features Halloween-themed Fright Nights with lots of spooky actors and several haunted houses. Jump-scares guaranteed!

Rijksmuseum Amsterdam

If you’re interested in art, culture, and history, pay a visit to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam! You’ll find over 8.000 exhibitions of works of art and historical artifacts. If you have time left, Amsterdam also houses the famous Van Gogh Museum, which is definitely worth a visit.

Light festival Glow

Glow is a famous yearly light festival, featuring a beautiful light-art walk in the city of Eindhoven. You can admire Glow 2023 from November 11-18th. The route can be walked for free, and for a small €2 fee you get access to an audio tour which you can listen to via your phone. Don’t forget to bring your headphones!
