You may have seen the certificates we list on our website: SNF, SNA, and NBBU. In this blog, we explain what each certificate is for and why it is important that we have them.
SNF stands for Stichting Normering Flexwonen (Standards Foundation for Flexible Housing). The SNF was founded in 2012 after an agreement was signed to enforce good standards for temporary housing for migrant workers. Through annual inspections, SNF ensures that its registered members comply with important housing standards. For example, all residents must have a bed with a mattress of at least 80x200 cm and one chair per person. There must also be at least 1 toilet and 1 shower per 8 residents. At EU-People, we have been complying with the SNF standards for years. We even perform better than expected. If you want to know more, take a look at the SNF housing standards and our SNF certificate.
SNA stands for Stichting Normering Arbeid (Labour Standards Foundation). SNA was established in 2005 when the Dutch government called for a transparent system to promote self-regulation among employment agencies. This served as an alternative to requiring a permit to operate. SNA conducts (sometimes multiple) annual audits to determine whether an employment agency is functioning properly. SNA oversees the correct payment of the minimum wage, pensions, travel expenses, holiday allowance, and other compensation. SNA also checks whether all salary deductions, such as housing costs, are legal. Finally, SNA verifies whether companies possess the necessary documents to provide work for their employees. With the SNA quality mark, our clients know that they can safely work with us and our temporary workers. It reduces their risks in hiring temporary workers. If you would like to know more, please view the SNA map (only available in Dutch) and our SNA quality mark.
NBBU stands for Dutch Federation of Intermediary and Temporary Employment Agencies (Nederlandse Bond van Bemiddelings- en Uitzendondernemingen). The NBBU offers a flexible collective labor agreement (CAO) that is tailored to temporary workers. If you work with us at EU-People, the NBBU collective labor agreement ensures that your interests are represented. For more information, visit NBBU Collective Labor Agreement) and our NBBU certificate.
By applying for (and earning) SNF, SNA, and NBBU certificates, we make it easier for you to recognize us as a legitimate, fair, and transparent employment agency. Instead of having to do your own research, you can rely on the regular audits by these independent organizations. That makes these certifications a good thing to look out for when choosing your next employment agency!
